About

Hello! I’m Jodie and I’m an editor and writer of children’s fiction and nonfiction. I’m American and British and I live in Hertfordshire, in England.

I’ve published 12 books for kids, I have 8 more coming out in 2022 and 2023, and I have lots, lots more hidden in a closet that may (or may not) contain my secret stash of chocolate (it does) that I am hiding from my children. I can’t wait to share them with you (the books, not the chocolate. I never share chocolate.)

  1. DEAR JOSIE PARACHINI,

Hello. I am Irish -British and live in Siem Reap in Cambodia with my partner a Cambodienne.

I see that you wrote a book about Magawa, the heroic mine-sniffing rat. What a brilliant idea!

Many would love to see it in Cambodian schools, but it’s FAR too expensive at $17 USD.

Local books for kids retail at $2 / $3 / $4 and I’m beginning to to write a book to be published locally, with no thought of personal gain – I’m a retiree.

I’m writing to you as a matter of courtesy to let you know.

Without even the fleeting thought of ripping off – plagiarizing – your work, I want to write a book about the mine-sniffing rats to be published locally as a parallel text in English / Khmer / Chinese and, I hope, used in schools here.

I wrote school texts before, in Malaysia, and college texts in Saudi Arabia.

My *serious* work can be found on the internet: *Adams the Pilot* and *Orders for the Captain*

    With best wishes,

    Billy Corr

    1. Dear Billy,
I think it’s fantastic that you want to write a book for the schools in Cambodia. What a great idea! I’ll write to my publisher to see whether there’s anything we can do about the pricing, but in the meantime, I think your book would be a very welcome sight in Cambodian schools. Very best wishes, Jodie
